By now you know this is a food blog

Right?

Ohhhh, I don’t mean that I post fantabulous recipes or anything.  I am just a girl who sits here and eats while I blog.

So, in the spirit of sharing and all that, I had to let you in on a yummy recipe that I tried last week. I think I ate most of the pan myself.  Oh the shame.

The best part is that it is super easy.  I don’t do anything difficult.  Nope.  Not in this kitchen.

Gooey Turtle Bars

2 cups graham cracker crumbs (you can also use vanilla wafers)

1/2 cup butter, melted

2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels (12 oz bag)

1 cup pecan pieces

1 (12 oz) jar caramel topping

Combine the crumbs and butter in an ungreased 13×9 pan.  Mash (yeah, I said mash – that means “press” if you aren’t from the South) into the bottom of the pan.

Sprinkle with the chocolate morsels and pecans.

Microwave the caramel topping (remove lid, of course) until hot.  Drizzle over the nuts and morsels.  Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until morsels melt.  Let pan cool on a wire rack, then chill for at least 30 minutes and cut into bars.  Yield: 2 dozen

Don’t hate me.  Embrace the gooeyness.
