This and That

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any busier around here, we kick it up a notch.

G is finally over the hump and we had his 2 week post op check up yesterday…he can resume normal eating and activity!  YAY!  I know he was tired of soft foods and I was tired of trying to make them seem appealing.  He still has a little ways to go and isn’t fully recovered strength or energy wise, so I hope that with a few more weeks, he will be back to normal.

A has been having some pretty severe reflux issues again, so I finally got her an appointment to see the GI.  I feel pretty sure they will want to do an endoscopy.  It’s a strange thing since she and S are identical, but A always shows the symptoms later than her sister.  You think she’s doing fine, then several months later she is doing the same exact thing that landed S an endoscopy.  Hopefully they won’t find anything…heck. as long as I am hoping, maybe she will just miraculously get better. :)

S has had some pretty nasty sinus issues and we are going to get films taken tomorrow of her adenoids.  The ENT suspects they need to come out, so I guess we will know that for sure next week after her appointment.  I do think her GI issues are playing into it as well, so I will ask that doc as well.

I am not looking forward to the possibility of 2 more procedures.

R is healthy, although I have no idea how.  The kid doesn’t eat.  I think he must hail from a long line of camels.

So, all of that, juggling who goes where, takes what medicine, etc. is a tad exhausting.  I am so very thankful my children don’t have any severe health issues, but it’s still taxing dealing with even the more mild, yet chronic, ones.

Gearing up for Thanksgiving here shortly.  We will go to Grammy’s and see all the cousins and have a grand old time.  Hopefully I can get some good pictures for a Christmas card, but I am considering using this one:

It really captures our essence  I think.

Oh, and a very belated yet not insincere HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweetie!  Poor hubby doesn’t get his own special birthday post, but eh, he’s lived this long without one so another year won’t hurt him.

  • Hands down this picture. It rocks.
Hope the appts. went well. And happy belated to Big R. :)

  • That is a great picture! Especially R’s expression – it’s priceless! I’m sorry ya’ll have so much going on. Don’t downplay it — the only “minor” surgery is what they do on someone else’s kids! We’ll pray A gets better and won’t need the scope; and that S’s sinuses miraculously clear up. Sometimes the chronic issues are the ones that really wear you down – bit by exhausting bit. Love ya!

  • Love that picture!! That is too funny. I think you should use it. Hope that the girls are OK and get a clean bill of health.

  • That is a fabulous photo!!!
