A week in the life

What can I say?  It is always extremely busy here.  For a long time I thought this break neck pace was normal, but I am starting to see the light.  Not exactly sure what to do about it though.

Since I have last checked in, here are some highlights:

  • I took the kids to the aquarium since it was FREE (except for moi)
  • Babysat 2 extra sets of kids on two different days
  •  Had oldest son’s 6 year check up, complete with 3 other children observing the shot ritual.  Always a good time.
  • Got my hair cut and colored – first time since May???
  • Had a follow up with my surgeon who told me to come back in 6 months
  • Drove out of state for a birthday party with 3 kids while hubby stayed home with 1 sick one.  Chuck E. Cheese and I are no longer friends.
  • Drove home from said party the same day (2 hours both ways)
  • Attended another party the following day
  • Called the dryer repair guy only to be told that it would cost at least $350 to repair Ole Bessie.   Time to go shopping.  May she RIP.
  • Took oldest son for an ENT appointment, with others in tow, where we FINALLY, FINALLY decided to get the tonsils out.  Can I get a whoo hoo?I have been pushing for that for 3 years and today the doctor looks me in the eye and says, “well, if he were MINE, I would take them out”.  I didn’t know whether to kiss or smack him.  That will take place in early November.
  • Took all 4 lovely, well behaved children to a second doctor’s appointment for youngest son who has bronchitis.  I had to provide some of their behinds with a gentle reminder on proper behavior at said doctor’s office.
  • Took my van in to repair the damage from when my dad backed into me.  I am now cruising in a LOVELY Toyota Sequoia rental.  It’s pretty sweet.  Too bad I have to give it back.
  • Went to tennis practice, only to get rained on, so I headed to the gym instead.

I still have about 89 million more miles to go to get through various tasks, activities, and responsibilities for the week.  I can’t wait for November.  October has been one wicked mutha.

Oh, and I know that you know these activities are all in addition to the usual 7 million daily responsiblities like cooking, cleaning, laundry and kid maintenance.  Just wanted to clarify that for the dads reading out there. ;)
