Christianity would be great if it weren’t for the Christians.
Wow.
I read this in a response to another blog tonight and just had to nod in agreement. Of course, after my knee jerk reaction of thinking, “yeah, what about so and so” (slap me please) I didn’t have to think very hard to recall times where I was THAT person causing the disdain for Christ.
For now, all I can do is ask forgiveness and pray for Grace.
Oh, and keep pressing on.

Good stuff. Gandhi said, “I like your Christ, but I dont like your Christians, your Christians are so unlike your Christ. Be blessed!

Wow. So often that is right on the money. I was just discussing that last night with someone…strange. Out of curiousity, can you tell me what blog you were reading. I’d love to read what elicited that response.

BTW, you know, my immediate response to that kind of statement is always to think of “those people”. You know – the ones “out there”. They are most certainly NOT in this house. Or are they at times?
You are so right about looking inward as well as a reminder to seek His grace.

Mary – Ah Ha! I was able to actually remember where I read that after a couple of hours of racking my brain! lol
Here is the link to the blog that was quoting that particular phrase. Good stuff all around – I hope she doesn’t mind me linking her (I have bad blogging manners I think…):

Thanks for being iron sharpening iron! We all need to be careful of our witness. It’s a challenge to be in the world and not of it; to be able to relate to and love people where they are, but still radiate Christ. May the Spirit guide us all and keep us humble!

I’m with KarrieW – that quote is right on, unfortunately.
