Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same

The title above is a line from this song that recently struck a chord with me.  It’s been on my Ipod for ages, but since I have started exercising again, it has actually been listened to and has taken on new meaning.

Sometimes it just plain sucks to do the right thing.  The right things usually are the hardest ones, but almost always worth the effort.

I remember someone close to me once said that we don’t always have the right to be happy.  They went on to elaborate and gave the example of all the women from the various wars our country has been through.  Those women had no choice but to plow ahead for their family, work hard, and support a house full of children all on their own while their husbands were across an ocean and dealing with all manner of atrocity.  Were they happy?  Maybe some of them…maybe some of the time.  It was one of those hardest things, but right things.

Here’s to the hard things that make us stronger.  The ones that are right and deserve the effort.

I just broke up with my boyfriend of four years… the hardest thing i have ever done. I think it’s important to remember you will be happier, even if it doesn’t feel like it. What’s meant to be will ALWAYS find a way. Every single person on this earth looks at the same sun, isn’t that amazing? That’s life
