People are forever asking how I tell my girls apart. Yes, they are identical, but even identical twins have subtle differences based on where they were in the womb, environment and simply how their DNA responds and reacts to things. It’s like planting two of the same flower. They are the same exact kind, but one may grow slightly faster, turn a little more towards the sun – stuff like that makes them a little different. I will tell you that all twins have different personalities from one another. They are individuals and deserve to be treated accordingly. My girls are really starting to inform people of their preferences and how sister is different.
So, since I am THE ONLY person that can tell them apart without fail, I thought I might let you in on my secrets and see if you can too. Poor Hubby. He is right about 50% of the time.
It’s hard to tell in pictures, but A has a broader (wider, flatter) face than S. Also, her eyes are slightly wider and larger. S has smaller eyes and more pronounced cheek bones.
Any guesses?
A is on the left, S on the right.
Again, a bit tricky in pics – especially when they aren’t too thrilled with having them taken.
So, this one has
S on the left, A on the right.
Are you thoroughly confused now?

What beautiful girls! I’m guessing the second picture is from a wedding… they look adorable!
I was friends with identical twins as a kid, and they told me that their mother always had an easier time telling them apart than their father. I saw them about 8 months ago (they’re almost 30 now) and darn it if I couldn’t tell them apart even then!

Your girls are adorable – love the outfits from the second picture.
I was friends with identical twins in jr. high and I was able to tell them apart pretty well, but after summer break it would always take me a few days to “catch back up” so to speak. They liked to switch classes because one was really good at history and english and the other liked science and math – they could only do it at the beginning of the year though because the teachers could tell them apart by Christmas.

Thanks ladies!
Yes, the second pic is from my brother’s wedding. I am eagerly awaiting the professional pics since they are a wee bit better than mine.
I’m sure they will pull some fast ones. They have done that to their father a time or two – as early as 20 months. They each went to the others’ crib and stood there for Hubby to put them in. Sucker.
